Connect to a bigger story

The novelist Michael Crichton once said, "If you don't know history, then you don't know anything. You are a leaf that doesn't know it is part of a tree." The story that you and I are a part of is the story of what God has done in history through his Son - Jesus Christ - to make us right with God. It doesn't matter what your story is - the mistakes you've made, the people you've hurt or the trauma you've experienced - you can have a life-giving relationship with God through Jesus. We exist to share his story.

Find hope, purpose and belonging

God has a plan and a purpose for your life. It begins with connection - being in deep, life-giving relationships with God and others. It involves transformation - being healed and shaped by the Word of God into a person worthy of bearing his name. And it flows into contribution - being a blessing to those around you and making a positive difference in the world. We exist to help you on this journey as fellow pilgrims.

Drink from a deeper well

Have you ever "vegged out" on social media or binge-watched Netflix or gone on a shopping spree? We sure have! But what were you really looking for? Connection? Rest? An escape from boredom? St. Augustine once wrote, "You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you." We exist to provide a place of deep emotional and spiritual nourishment because we believe that the Word of God can bring life to dry bones. And so we provide a robust teaching programme during our Sunday services as well as run mid-week Bible studies and discipleship courses. Come and be refreshed!

Blessed to bless

Because we've experienced the life-changing power of a relationship with God, we want to share it with others. Church is not just about getting our own needs met - it is about serving and blessing others, for the glory of God. Imagine using your life to make a difference for God!

Statement of faith

We are orthodox in doctrine and contemporary in expression. We believe in...

• The true humanity and deity of the Lord Jesus Christ

• The atonement made on the cross by our Lord Jesus Christ for the sin of the world

• The person of the Holy Spirit as the one who sanctifies and sets  apart, empowers and imparts spiritual gifts to the church

• The inspiration of the Bible and its authority in all matters of faith and practice

• Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone

• Membership of the church is for those who have received salvation

• The immersion of believers as the scriptural form of baptism.

Meet the team

Jesus Christ is the ultimate leader of our church. We collectively discern his will through prayer, Scripture reading and loving korero (conversation). Our church is overseen by an elected Board of Elders who serve a governance function as well as a Ministry Team who lead and execute our mission.

Service Time and Location

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to do anything if I visit?

Not a thing! You'll be greeted and welcomed by various people as we help you find your seat. During the service, you'll get a Welcome Pack (which includes some chocolate). As a guest to our "living room", just relax and make yourself at home!

I have children - is there a children's programme?

Yes, we have a Junior Explorers programme for kids aged 11 and under and a Pathfinders programme for kids aged 12 to 16. The service starts with everyone together, but during the teaching sessions we break up into smaller groups. Activities range from colouring books and playing with toys to Bible studies. The children regularly participate in the main service by doing Bible readings as well as putting on plays, musicals and other special performances.

I'm not a Christian - can I visit?

Absolutely! It can be scary attending a church service for the first time. What on earth goes on in there?! Well, if you're expecting to see strange rituals performed by mysterious hooded figures, you'll be disappointed. We're just ordinary people who've been touched by God who come together to sing, pray and listen to God's Word. We do enjoy a cup of tea after the service and often share a meal together.

What does it mean to be Baptist?

Baptists are a mainline Protestant denomination. Our distinctives include a high view of Scripture as the living Word of God and immersion of believers as the scriptural form of baptism. Baptist churches are not governed by a central authority and so are relatively autonomous. We believe that as a priesthood of all believers, each local church collectively discerns the will of Christ through a covenant relationship with God and with fellow believers.
