We have a rich calendar of events throughout the year.
Ormiston Baptist joins with Summerset Village to remember the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross on Good Friday.
George served as a missionary in Brazil before joining Carey Baptist College as the Director of the Mission Track programme, training missionaries, where he served for a number of years. As a gifted storyteller, he is passionate about equipping churches and NGOs to authentically participate in God’s mission.
Steve worked as a surgeon at a mission hospital in South Africa before emigrating to New Zealand. He continued his medical practice in Whangarei whilst also pastoring churches on the side (including as interim pastor of Ormiston Baptist). Steve is a gifted preacher with a flair and a passion for bringing the Word of God to life.
Last year we watched “Jesus Revolution” – a movie about the life of Pastor Greg Laurie and his involvement in the Jesus movement. Suggestions are welcome for this year’s movie choice! Our auditorium has a superb sound and projector system, and best of all, we get to watch together as a church family!
John is the Principal of Carey Baptist College. Carey’s mission is to “equip Christian leaders with the convictions, competencies and capacity to participate in God’s mission…” John has a passion for preaching God’s Word, having taught the preaching course at Carey for many years.
Home to 17 different nationalities, we love celebrating our diversity. Bring along a plate of food to share from your home country, and regale us in your native garb!
Everyone needs hope, but hope can be hard to come by these days. In this 3-week video series based on the Gospel of Luke, we look at why Jesus’ life, death and resurrection can give us hope for today. If you’d like to join, email us at admin@ormistonbaptist.org.nz for the Zoom link.
