Ormiston Community Baptist Church grew out of a home group who wanted to form a community of multi-cultural believers, reflecting the diversity of our area. As the homegroup grew, our Pastors Steve and Lyn Davis were appointed, and we began meeting formally as a church at Chapel Road skateboard park recreation room. On 8 September 2013, we had our first service at our current venue, Ormiston Senior College. Steve and Lynn served as pastors until December 2018.
As of January 2019, we welcomed Dr Steve Dunn as interim pastor.
Our mission remains to provide a faith community that welcomes and connects people of all ethnicity, and our vision is to continue to grow and develop as a multi-cultural Church that is engaged with the community around us.
We have plans to build a multi-purpose facility on the property we own along Chapel Road to house our services and provide facilities to the community.
You’re warmly invited to join us on this journey and connect with us at our Sunday services!
As a Baptist Church, we are a member of the Baptist Union of New Zealand, which consists of over 240 Baptist churches nationwide. To find out more about what it means to be a Baptist and our shared Statement of Faith, please visit the Baptist Union website.
